🧭 How to Use 6" Flexwatt Heat Tape

  1. Determine Required Length
Measure your rack or enclosure to figure out how many feet of tape you need. The tape is sold per foot.

  2. Cut and Prepare
Cut the tape to your desired length using clean, sharp scissors. Make sure the edges remain sealed.

  3. Attach Power
Wire the tape using two clips and two clip covers, connected to a standard power cord. (Clip sets and cords are sold separately.)

    • Alternatively, you can solder the wires if you are experienced.

  4. Install Properly
Lay the tape flat beneath or behind the enclosure. Never overlap heat tape. Ensure good airflow and avoid moisture contact.

  5. Connect to a Thermostat or Dimmer
Always regulate heat using a rheostat, dimmer, or proportional thermostat for accuracy and safety.

  6. Monitor Temperature
Use a digital thermometer or temp gun to ensure the tape stays below 95°F and maintains ideal herp temperatures.
